Postnatal YOGA Series - Back & Hips - Strengthen your Lower Back and Outer Hips in this Table Top
To stabilize & strengthen your core we can't forget about the lower back. This is why movement in table top, or all fours, is such a staple of postpartum yoga. However if you have pain in your wrists, these types of exercises might not be so appealing. So, you might want to stretch your wrists out a bit before this sequence. And feel free to either rest your weight on fists instead of open hands or even come down onto forearms. We certainly don't want to exacerbate any wrist pain!
We will also get into the outer hips and upper back, and don't worry we also save some time to tone and strengthen the front body.

    Surprisingly good ✨💜 ✨ We practice in our small pollytunnel.. I think we may have taken the whole Yogi thing a bit extreme!! 🙄. My only suggestion for some people with stiff or aging hips, when rocking from side to side in forward fold (near the beginning), we can gently drop our waight / mind down each leg into the earth to get create the rock. Or our centre (below the navel), to bubbling spring (the pads of the feet). 🦙 Lovely lesson ✨🌟✨

    You did such a beautiful job on this sequence! Thank you for carving time out to record, edit and share. Your use of props was so seamless and shows insight into exactly how we must honor our bodies during this sacred time. Thank you for including a meditation in the middle. This was new to me, and I enjoyed it very much! When participating in public class, most instructors include a meditation at the beginning or end. Something about it being in the middle was freeing, empowering and intuitive.

      Hi Imelda! you may also try eating red apples to treat and get rid of hyper-acidity which often leads to acid reflux.

    I personally didn't like it. In my opinion it's not geared towards making your acid reflux feel better- it is simply a yoga sequence that doesn't use poses that will irritate it. Also, stress and breathing go hand in hand with AR- this yoga sequence was too fast. It should've held poses longer and focused on deep breathing more. Again, this is just my personal opinion. But I would choose something else.

      Thanks for your comment Emily. You are exactly right. This sequence is meant to give you poses that will not irritate your acid reflux. So that you can still practice even if you are currently experiencing AR.
